A remote game development team is seeking Unreal Engine programmers to prototype and improve gameplay systems for one of two original projects: 40 SOULS, a dark vehicular roguelite, or SPIN, a futuristic anti-gravity combat racing game. - Prototype vehicle controls, including driving feel, vehicle controllers, physics, cameras, vehicle behavior, and tuning parameters
- Develop enemy behavior, race logic, combat AI, and basic gameplay decision-making
- Implement weapon logic, hit detection, reloading, ammunition limits, mines, heavy weapons, and VFX/SFX integration
- Build gameplay abilities, vehicle modules, and related systems
- Implement gameplay rules, statistics, damage and health systems, upgrades, progression, and balance-related logic
- Debug, fix issues, perform basic optimization, and monitor regressions in demo scenes
- Work in C++ and/or Blueprint across one or more gameplay areas
Требования
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5
- Strong understanding of the Unreal Gameplay Framework, components, and Blueprint integration
- Confident C++ skills and/or strong Blueprint skills
- Ability to read existing code and integrate carefully with established systems and plugins
- Understanding of game engine architecture and gameplay programming principles
- Strong 3D mathematics, including vectors, rotations, transforms, quaternions, and physics-related logic
- Clear communication and comfort working in an iterative team process
