Lead the end-to-end mechanical development of a rugged handheld electronic device for defense applications, from early concepts and prototyping through testing and manufacturing.
Обязанности
- Lead mechanical design of a rugged handheld electronic device from concept through manufacturing.
- Create assemblies, 3D models, and production-ready drawings.
- Integrate mechanical, electronic, and optical systems within a compact enclosure.
- Design products to meet relevant military standards, including MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
- Drive prototyping, testing, and rapid design iteration.
- Work with suppliers to support manufacturability and cost-effective production.
- Collaborate with industrial design and electrical engineering teams.
Требования
- At least 7 years of experience designing rugged, compact electronics, preferably in defense or military hardware.
- Expertise with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo.
- Strong knowledge of materials, sealing, thermal design, shock and vibration protection, and DFM/DFX.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and bench-level problem-solving.
- Experience designing for extreme shock, drop, vibration, thermal, dust, and moisture conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership.

- FEA experience in structural or thermal simulation.
