Production Manager
Oversee production operations, guide team in assembly, testing, and quality assurance, forecast budgets, manage resources, and ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
Responsibilities
- Guide department activities to support new product design, modify existing designs, and improve production techniques and test procedures.
- Explore technology trends and market demand to plan projects.
- Collaborate with management, production, and marketing staff to resolve manufacturing feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand issues.
- Forecast operating costs and direct preparation of budget requests.
- Partner with team and management in developing strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan.
- Review and establish material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate production activities with other functional groups such as planning and distribution.
- Select and develop personnel to ensure efficient production operations.
- Control manufacturing operations and ensure production quality and cost targets are met.
- Review budgets and schedules required by management.
- Manage relations with executives and major customers to maintain relationships.
- Resolve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influence management for plant achievements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 3 years of operations experience.
- Detailed expertise in complex functional/technical area or broad knowledge in multiple areas; understands strategic impact across sites.
- Advanced people and/or process management skills as well as customer relationship skills.
- Knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies at the site.
- Proficiency with office software: word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and database software.
