Own Shopify and e-commerce strategy, advise customers on solutions, lead executive conversations, define standards, and support sales. Senior individual contributor reporting to COO/CTO, with opportunity to grow into Director.
Responsibilities
- Own Shopify and e-commerce strategy and recommended practices
- Advise customers on Shopify, Shopify Plus, e-commerce architecture, integrations, performance, and conversion
- Translate customer business goals into solution recommendations, requirements, priorities, and acceptance criteria
- Lead executive customer conversations and serve as senior business and technology advisor
- Support sales calls, technical discovery, solution design, proposals, and statements of work
- Determine when to use native Shopify capabilities, third-party applications, or custom applications
- Define e-commerce standards for customer experience, performance, accessibility, SEO, analytics, and security
- Review complex or high-risk opportunities before commitments are made
- Identify and escalate customer, scope, solution, and delivery risks
- Partner with engineering and client delivery teams on feasibility, estimates, and customer health
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in e-commerce technology, digital solutions, consulting, or implementation
- 5+ years of substantial Shopify experience, including Shopify Plus
- Strong customer-facing consulting and executive presentation skills
- Experience advising retailers or e-commerce businesses on strategy and technology
- Strong working knowledge of Shopify themes, Liquid, APIs, webhooks, Shopify Functions, and Checkout Extensibility
- Practical understanding of custom applications, third-party integrations, payments, analytics, SEO, and security
- Ability to evaluate architecture without being the primary developer
- Experience running technical discovery, defining solutions, and contributing to proposals
- Strong commercial judgment balancing customer goals, platform constraints, and profitability
- Excellent written and spoken English
