Electro-Mechanical Development Manager
Lead multidisciplinary R&D teams developing cutting-edge motion control solutions for industrial automation. Drive innovation across hardware and software, from concept to production, with a focus on embedded systems, power electronics, and AI-assisted engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary R&D teams across multiple international locations.
- Define and drive system architecture across power electronics, embedded software, control algorithms, mechanics, and communication interfaces.
- Own the full product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through validation and production release.
- Drive innovation in motion control systems with a focus on embedded software, system scalability, simulation, automation, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Establish and promote structured development methodologies, including Agile practices, stage-gate processes, design reviews, and validation standards.
- Define and maintain engineering standards that support quality, reliability, manufacturability, and long-term scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-performance products that meet customer and market requirements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of R&D experience in areas such as embedded systems, motion control, power electronics, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong system-level architecture expertise spanning hardware, embedded software, control systems, and product integration.
- Demonstrated success in driving software-led innovation, including practical application of AI, data analytics, simulation automation, or advanced engineering tools.
- Hands-on background in embedded software development, including experience with C/C++, DSP, MCU, or FPGA-based platforms.
- Experience working with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CANopen, or similar.
- Familiarity with standards-driven product development, including UL and Functional Safety standards (IEC).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have
- Experience in industrial automation, servo drives, motors, or electromechanical systems.
- Track record of bringing complex products from concept to mass production.
- Experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
