Lead product strategy for a minimally-invasive heart pump system. Serve as the voice of the customer, define roadmaps, manage the full product lifecycle, and drive usability, regulatory, and go-to-market activities. The company develops a multi-disciplinary medical device combining mechanical, electrical, software, and catheter technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead usability testing and product training efforts
  • Participate in marketing activities related to the product
  • Gather needs for current and future products, identify optimized solutions, and lead strategic and tactical product roadmaps
  • Own and be responsible for the full product lifecycle
  • Characterize new products and features
  • Monitor competitive activity, including IP, technical features, market performance, and marketing activities
  • Provide input to product training and marketing activities/materials
  • Provide support for products sold in mass numbers, interfacing with sales reps, distributors, and end-customers worldwide
  • Characterize all product-related risks and hazards
  • Verify ease-of-use
  • Define use-scenarios for the product
  • Be responsible for user-interface interactions
  • Procure accessories and relevant off-the-shelf products for evaluation/assessment

Requirements

  • M.Sc. in a relevant field
  • At least 8 years of experience in product management (preferably B2B) or shorter R&D experience
  • Experience with FDA submissions and FDA human factors/usability studies
  • Experience defining user interfaces, product requirements, product specifications, and hazard analyses
  • Experience presenting scientific and clinical data before advisory boards
  • Thorough understanding of organizational processes and experience working with internal stakeholders from product definition to launch
  • End-to-end product lifecycle experience from inception to scale marketing
  • Full proficiency in English

Nice to have

  • Relevant M.A. and/or M.B.A.
  • Ph.D. or MD
  • Experience in adjacent disciplines/roles such as Product Marketing, Marketing, Business Development, R&D Developer, Team Leader, Program Management, or Project Management
  • Experience with sophisticated, data-rich products with a significant customer base, or products/systems that combine hardware and software
  • Strong experience with cardiovascular or structural heart devices
  • Experience with Class III medical devices and pre-commercial stage companies
  • Native English speaker
