Software Engineering Team Lead
Lead and mentor a full-stack engineering team building scalable, reliable B2B payment infrastructure. Set technical direction, guide architecture, and remain hands-on across backend, frontend, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI-powered workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of full-stack engineers
- Set technical direction and drive execution against engineering and product goals
- Design and build end-to-end backend and frontend systems
- Build and evolve scalable distributed systems for high-volume transaction processing
- Improve event-driven architecture, reliability, performance, observability, and fault tolerance
- Own distributed workflows, asynchronous processing, and large-scale data pipelines
- Lead architecture discussions and technical design reviews
- Establish engineering best practices across the team
- Collaborate with engineering, product, customer success, and leadership
- Build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and deployment workflows
- Evaluate and implement AI capabilities, automations, and agent-driven workflows
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including engineering leadership or mentoring
- Experience formally or informally managing or leading engineers
- Strong full-stack development capabilities
- Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks, preferably React
- Experience building and scaling production systems
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Experience with AWS and cloud-native systems
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and execution skills
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, or Step Functions
- Infrastructure as Code experience
- Experience integrating AI agents or LLM-powered workflows into production systems
- Experience in B2B SaaS environments
- Experience in fast-paced startup environments
