Hardware and Embedded Engineering Manager
Lead a team of hardware and embedded engineers developing mission-critical fire detection, life safety, and industrial IoT systems from architecture through mass production.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a hardware and embedded engineering group of 3–5 engineers
- Own product lifecycles end to end, from architecture and design through mass manufacturing
- Define system-level and board-level hardware architectures for safety-oriented platforms
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and project governance
- Drive new product introduction processes and oversee production handover
- Manage subcontractor, vendor, and manufacturing-line relationships
- Collaborate with Systems, Software, Quality, and Operations teams to support reliability and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in hardware board design and/or embedded systems development
- Managerial experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex multidisciplinary projects
- Strong system-level thinking and hardware architecture design capabilities
- Experience taking products from concept definition through design, validation, and mass production
- Experience managing NPI processes, production transfer, external vendors, and manufacturing subcontractors
- Strong leadership, cross-functional communication, and project execution skills
Nice to have
- Embedded software or firmware development experience with C/C++
- Experience with industrial products, safety-critical systems, or industrial IoT
