Backend Quality Engineer
As a Core Backend Quality Engineer, you will ensure the stability and reliability of critical backend services through deep debugging, API testing, and AI-driven automation. You'll collaborate with DevOps and SaaSOps, using your strong analytical skills to maintain production-ready systems.
Responsibilities
- Reproduce, analyze, and investigate backend issues using logs, traces, and architecture flows.
- Debug across multiple microservices to identify root causes quickly.
- Validate defect fixes and ensure no regressions across the system.
- Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and SaaSOps on infrastructure-related issues.
- Use AI tools daily to accelerate test creation, debugging, and analysis.
- Generate automated API and integration tests using AI.
- Analyze logs and propose root-cause hypotheses with AI.
- Write automated tests with JavaScript/TypeScript (Jest, Cucumber.js).
- Test REST and gRPC backend APIs.
- Validate multi-service flows and backend interactions.
- Improve test reliability, coverage, and maintainability.
- Understand backend architecture, service boundaries, and data flows.
- Analyze SQL data for validation and debugging.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) daily.
- Improve internal testing tools and processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years in technical roles (backend QA, automation, support engineering, or systems analysis).
- Strong analytical skills from architecture to implementation.
- Experience testing backend APIs (REST, gRPC, Postman, gRPCurl, JMeter).
- Hands-on with JavaScript/TypeScript test tools (Jest, Cucumber.js).
- AI-first mindset with daily use of AI tools for testing and debugging.
- Ability to read and analyze backend logs.
- SQL proficiency for debugging and data validation.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Fluent English.

- Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
- Experience with log/monitoring tools (Datadog).
- Experience debugging enterprise-grade backend systems.
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript).
- Experience with multi-service or microservices architectures.
