Structural Analysis and Dynamics Engineer
Conduct structural dynamics and finite element analyses for airborne and ground systems. Plan and execute dynamic tests, define environmental requirements, and research new methods. Collaborate across engineering disciplines in a matrix environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform dynamic analyses using FEA software to assess vibration, shock, and other environmental conditions.
- Conduct modal analyses of airborne vehicles to determine natural frequencies and mode shapes.
- Research and implement new methods for evaluating unique environmental conditions.
- Plan, support, execute, and analyze dynamic tests such as vibration, pyroshock, and acoustics.
- Support system-level flight tests, analyze measurement data, and apply findings to projectile environmental conditions.
- Define environmental requirement specifications for ground and airborne equipment, and oversee qualification processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in strength/dynamics analysis or testing (relevant academic research or projects count).
- Experience with engineering programming in Matlab or Python.
- Ability to independently lead tasks and take ownership.
- Capable of working in a matrix structure with multiple interfaces.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with Nastran/Patran FEM software.
- Knowledge of physical signal processing and random processes (vibrations, shocks).
- Familiarity with environmental engineering standards such as MIL-STD-810.
