Seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to design and develop modem firmware for 5G/6G NR technology. Focus on real-time embedded systems, RF controls, and hardware-software integration. Requires strong C programming, debugging, and knowledge of communication protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new platforms to market.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement firmware for 5G/6G NR modem control flows, RF controls, and state machines.
- Implement features based on 3GPP specifications (5G/6G NR, LTE, multi-RAT).
- Collaborate with modem systems, PHY, and hardware teams to define and integrate end-to-end solutions.
- Debug complex firmware, hardware, and system interactions issues.
- Participate in bring-up, integration, and feature commercialization on new modem platforms.
- Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and technical problem solving.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of software/hardware engineering experience (or 4+ with Master's).
- Strong programming skills in C.
- Experience with embedded systems and real-time environments.
- Understanding of concurrency, interrupts, and low-level control logic.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
- Experience in RF controls and RF loops.
- Demonstrated experience in the semiconductor industry with SoC projects.
- Familiarity with system firmware, scheduler design, and control-plane logic.
- Exposure to 3GPP specifications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
