- Integrate force/torque and optional tactile or wrist sensing
- Define safe operating envelopes, shutdown procedures, fallback behaviors, and intervention criteria
- Create reproducible real/simulation manipulation scenarios
- Lead hardware-in-the-loop adversarial experiments
- Build repeatable, measurable, and safe robot-experiment tooling
- Diagnose failures across perception, planning, control, sensing, and contact dynamics
- Convert robotic failures into research problems, evaluation protocols, reports, publications, patents, or prototypes
Requirements
- Senior-level research or innovation record in robotics or AI
- Ownership of at least one full-cycle research or advanced R&D project
- Strong hands-on experience with real robots
- Deep ROS 2 experience, including hardware integration and debugging
- Experience with robot control, motion planning, and safety boundaries
- Experience integrating force/torque sensing
- Comfort with contact-rich tasks, recovery behaviors, and failure diagnosis
- Strong Python and C++ skills
- Experience owning complex real-world robotic systems beyond model development
Nice to have
- Tactile, wrist, or gripper sensing experience
- Peer-reviewed publications, patents, open-source robotics infrastructure, or deployed advanced robotic systems
- Experience in advanced prototyping or production-like experimental environments
