Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Seeking a hands-on technical lead to develop real-time embedded software for a first-in-market surgical robotic platform. Own feature delivery and drive design decisions in a safety-critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical and feature lead for the embedded team, guiding design and mentoring through code reviews.
- Drive design and development of real-time embedded software, owning end-to-end feature delivery.
- Uphold high code quality through reviews, best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Personally develop the most complex and safety-critical components in C/C++.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure technical alignment and shared progress.
- Make independent technical decisions while involving the team when appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on embedded software development in C/C++ with feature-leadership experience.
- Experience in real-time embedded and bare-metal environments.
- Experience in software design, development, and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as TCP/UDP, I2C, UART, RS232, SPI.
- Demonstrated technical leadership as an individual contributor.
- Strong team player with a product-focused, collaborative mindset.
- Strong AI-assisted development skills and ability to promote adoption within the team.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience developing safety-critical or regulated software (medical devices, IEC 62304, or similar).
- Experience with an RTOS and with motion control, robotics, or real-time control systems.
- Familiarity with EtherCAT, CAN, or other industrial/fieldbus protocols.
- Hebrew language skills.
