Embedded Software Team Lead
Lead a team of embedded software engineers and remain hands-on with architecture, design, and implementation. Focus on real-time systems, performance, and safety. Requires deep C/C++ and Embedded Linux/RTOS expertise, plus 2-3 years leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers, setting priorities and fostering high performance
- Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, and resolve complex technical challenges
- Architect, design, and implement embedded software (approximately 50% hands-on coding/design)
- Develop robust real-time systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and safety
- Ensure best practices in coding standards, unit testing, and CI/CD integration
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers for seamless software-hardware integration (SoCs, MCUs, sensors)
- Own end-to-end delivery of embedded modules, from design to production
- Translate product requirements into actionable technical tasks and roadmaps
- Drive engineering process improvements for increased efficiency and code quality
- Work closely with customers and Tier-1 partners on technical requirements and delivery commitments
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems and C/C++ development
- 2-3 years leading a small to medium-sized engineering team (technical mentorship and people management)
- Deep expertise in Embedded Linux/RTOS environments
- Experience with real-time signal processing and memory management
- Proficiency in developing for heterogeneous architectures (CPU, GPU, MCU)
- Familiarity with software architecture principles and Git-based development workflows
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and product needs
- Startup-ready mindset: flexible, solution-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced environments
Nice to have
- Experience in the automotive industry (ASPICE, AUTOSAR, ISO 26262)
- Experience with AI-acceleration software
