Junior Software Engineer
Develop on-board C++ (ROS 2, Jetson), backend in Node/TypeScript, and operator frontend for autonomous drones. Own validation from simulation to field testing. Requires strong C++17/20, shipped backend and frontend, Linux, and high GPA in CS/EE.
Responsibilities
- Develop on-board C++ software (ROS 2, NVIDIA Jetson) for autonomous mission assignment, self-test, low-battery return, and resume.
- Build backend services in Node/TypeScript for site/mission persistence, fleet state, fault classification, and battery-swap lifecycle.
- Create operator tablet frontend with severity-sorted ticket queue, live lane view, one-tap confirm/override, readable in sun and usable with gloves.
- Own validation: deterministic simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and real field testing; define what "working" means and prove it.
Requirements
- Strong production C++ (modern C++17/20).
- Experience shipping both backend services and a frontend used by real users.
- Linux as working environment: systemd, networking, containers, reading logs.
- High GPA from a strong CS/EE/software engineering program.
- Availability for field work in Israeli vineyards 1–3 days a week during peak season.
