Hands-on leadership role managing a DevOps/SRE team. Split time between people management and technical execution. Drive architectural decisions, own reliability standards, manage Kubernetes on GCP, enforce GitOps with Terraform and ArgoCD, build observability platform, and maintain data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Hire, manage, and grow a team of DevOps/SRE engineers
- Drive architectural decisions for platform primitives, evaluate trade-offs and build consensus across engineering teams
- Own reliability standards: define SLOs, lead blameless postmortems, and drive systemic improvements
- Manage the Kubernetes (GKE) control plane and cluster-level primitives
- Own infrastructure-as-code standards (Terraform, Helm) and enforce GitOps practices
- Build and maintain the observability platform, structured logging, metrics pipelines, alerting, and SLOs
- Maintain data infrastructure including pipelines and embedding stores as infrastructure services
Requirements
- 10+ years across DevOps, platform, SRE, or infrastructure roles
- 4+ years of management experience
- Strong Kubernetes expertise: cluster administration, operators, admission controllers, and networking
- Experience building developer tooling or internal platforms (CLIs, service catalogs, self-service portals)
- Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform; GitOps with ArgoCD or Flux
- Deep understanding of CI/CD systems and how to design pipelines as a platform primitive
- Proficiency with GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, IAM, VPC, Secret Manager)
- Software engineering skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript
Nice to have
- Experience in a healthcare or regulated environment (HIPAA, SOC2)
- On-call leadership and incident command experience
