Hands-on technical lead responsible for writing production code, defining architecture, mentoring engineers, and improving developer experience. Focus areas include Python, system design, CI/CD, and the integration of AI/LLM tooling. Requires extensive production experience and a B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field.
Responsibilities
- Write and review production code in Python and TypeScript.
- Lead design work and drive projects from proposal to production.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and pair programming.
- Raise code quality through testing, type hints, static analysis, and documentation.
- Improve developer experience by enhancing CI/CD, build/test tooling, and local dev environments.
- Collaborate with product, infra, and compiler teams to deliver reliable features.
- Reduce toil through observability, workflow simplification, and adoption of efficient tools.
- Leverage AI/LLM tooling to streamline engineering processes.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on Python development in production systems.
- Strong system design and scalable architecture experience.
- Experience leading technical projects and guiding teams.
- Proven mentoring and communication in code and design reviews.
- Engineering excellence: testing, pre-commit hooks, documentation, CI/CD.
- Comfort with Git, GitHub Actions, and agile practices.
- Hands-on experience applying AI/LLMs to developer workflows.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
Nice to have
- Cloud/DevOps experience (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure-as-code and secure software supply chain knowledge.
- Background in developer tooling (build systems, test frameworks, etc).
- Familiarity with quantum frameworks (Classiq, Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane).
- Familiarity with domain-specific languages.
- Open-source contributions or developer community involvement.
