Responsibilities
- Own features and systems end-to-end, from understanding user problems to architecture, development, and production operation.
- Design, build, and operate high-scale backend infrastructure for real-time, low-latency services.
- Collaborate directly with product and engineering to shape what we build.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues related to performance, reliability, and data processing.
- Continuously improve system architecture, observability, and development practices.
- Leverage AI as part of daily engineering work to accelerate development.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building complex distributed backend systems in production with Go, Node.js, or Python on cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS).
- Deep understanding of scalability, performance, system design, and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving instincts.
- Product mindset with a focus on user experience and how backend decisions shape it.
- Ability to work autonomously, take ownership, and make sound judgment calls without detailed specifications.
- Comfortable with ambiguity in a small team tackling big problems.
- Initiative, accountability, and a proactive mindset.
