Senior Python Backend Developer responsible for designing, building, and owning backend services for a cybersecurity platform operating in closed and air-gapped environments. Requires deep Python expertise, Linux, SQL/NoSQL, Docker, and experience with on-prem deployments. Fully on-site in Kfar Saba, Israel.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services in Python.
- Engineer for closed and air-gapped environments, including offline dependency management and on-prem deployment.
- Collaborate with customers and end users to understand workflows and gather feedback.
- Partner with product on technical decisions and roadmap.
- Set engineering standards through code review, design review, and mentoring.
- Own features end-to-end from initial conversation to production support.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily in Python.
- Experience as a senior developer or team lead with technical ownership.
- Proven ability to develop in closed, offline, or air-gapped infrastructures.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, concurrency, networking, Linux, SQL/NoSQL, API design, testing, Docker, and infrastructure optimization.
- Product sense: understanding user needs before coding.
- Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Hebrew and English.
Nice to have
- Valid security clearance.
- Background in cybersecurity, defense, intelligence, or classified environments.
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and on-prem CI/CD.
- Experience delivering software to enterprise or government customers.
