Lead hands-on backend architecture and development for scalable SaaS applications using Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and AWS, with a strong focus on performance and AI-assisted workflows.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to backend architecture for complex, large-scale SaaS applications
- Develop and maintain backend services with Node.js and TypeScript
- Design and deliver features from data modeling and API design through production rollout
- Optimize code and database performance, including query tuning, indexing, caching and concurrency
- Build and maintain scalable AWS services with PostgreSQL as the primary data store
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools and workflows into engineering practices
- Participate in architectural decisions, technical standards and code reviews
- Collaborate with product and design teams
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend development experience
- Strong hands-on expertise with Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and AWS
- Experience optimizing code and database performance in high-volume, multi-user production environments
- Ability to design and deliver end-to-end features independently
- Working knowledge of frontend development and React-based UI implementation
- Mandatory hands-on use of AI coding assistants such as Cursor or Claude
Nice to have
- Experience with Snowflake or other large-scale data warehouses
- Experience with performance monitoring and observability tools
- Familiarity with event-driven or distributed systems architectures
