We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to build scalable, high-performance backend systems for a next-generation trading platform. You will design and develop APIs and services using Node.js, integrate with SQL and NoSQL databases, and work with modern tools like Kafka, GCP, and Kubernetes in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and product
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
- Integrate with SQL and NoSQL databases for robust data flow
- Utilize Kafka, GCP, Kibana, and Linux to build and monitor systems
- Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes for scalability
- Contribute to system architecture and design discussions
- Debug and optimize backend performance
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing backend systems with Node.js
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with Kafka, GCP, and Kibana is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes is a strong advantage
- Experience with system design and software architecture is an advantage
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech or other high-scale, data-intensive environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
- Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
