Design and operate scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, and data infrastructure that productionize advanced AI systems for satellite imagery analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs
- Lead microservices and distributed systems architecture
- Manage data integration and large-scale satellite datasets
- Build and optimize data pipelines for AI and machine learning workflows
- Deploy and manage services on Kubernetes-based infrastructure
- Improve performance, scalability, availability, and latency
- Implement monitoring and observability solutions
- Collaborate with AI researchers, ML engineers, and DevOps teams to operationalize AI capabilities
Requirements
- Proven experience as a backend developer or software engineer
- Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies
- Hands-on experience designing APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Understanding of scalability, reliability, performance optimization, and security best practices
- Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering teams
Nice to have
- Experience with Earth Observation or Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite data
- Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience building real-time or low-latency systems
- Knowledge of MLOps and AI model integration
