We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of our large-scale in-memory caching infrastructure. You'll contribute to open-source Valkey, mentor engineers, and drive technical strategy for distributed datastore systems handling massive scale.
Responsibilities
- Deliver foundational software for open-source community and business growth.
- Mentor engineers and provide hands-on technical work.
- Lead complex technical issues and design new distributed database software systems.
- Impact Valkey OSS community and ElastiCache.
- Design and direct technical solutions for large-scale in-memory datastore infrastructure.
- Address customer demand and market competition by envisioning innovative in-memory caching solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- 8+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++.
- 8+ years of contributing to architecture and design of new and current systems.
Nice to have
- Programming in Rust.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and SDLC.
