Lead a team of engineers developing the mobile core components for 4G and 5G networks, including MME, AMF, SGW, PGW, HSS, and UPF. This hands-on role involves Java, C, and Node.js development, agile management, and AI-assisted workflows. Hybrid position based in Tel Aviv.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers developing mobile core components for 4G/5G networks
- Plan and manage daily activities using agile methodologies, setting priorities and providing feedback
- Own end-to-end delivery and quality of core components from design to production
- Stay hands-on (~50% of time) designing and coding in Java, C, and Node.js
- Collaborate on product architecture and drive adoption of new technologies
- Champion AI-assisted development practices to improve code quality and delivery speed
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mobile core development and telecom, including team lead or tech lead roles
- Deep understanding of mobile core components (3G/4G/5G) and 3GPP protocols (GTP, Diameter, PFCP, S1AP/NGAP, NAS)
- Proficiency in Java or C
- Proficiency in designing complex distributed systems
- Strong self-learning ability with a track record of independent research and implementation
- Excellent English communication skills
Nice to have
- Knowledge of mobile supplementary services (VoLTE, VoNR, cell broadcast, lawful interception)
- Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, Couchbase, ELK stack
- Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP)
