Join a professional development team building, maintaining, and supporting complex COBOL-based core systems in a hybrid role in Central Israel.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance core systems using COBOL.
- Create new functionality, modify existing code, debug issues, and provide production support.
- Understand complex business processes and the business logic behind legacy systems.
- Collaborate with system analysts, QA teams, business stakeholders, and technical interfaces throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on COBOL development experience.
- Experience in a mainframe environment; AS400/IBM i or Natural experience may also be considered.
- Experience with SQL and databases; DB2 experience is advantageous.
- A practical engineering diploma in software or computer engineering, or a B.Sc. in Computer Science from a recognized institution.
Nice to have
- Experience in banking, insurance, or other financial organizations.
- Experience with 3270 Online screens.
- Experience with CICS, JCL, batch and online processes, or Control-M.
- Experience with complex legacy systems and multiple technical and business interfaces.
