Lead the backend engineering team in executing product roadmap and delivering high-scale, mission-critical platform services. Design and build agentic infrastructure, including RAG pipelines and model routing, while driving adoption of AI-assisted development tools. Coach and mentor team members, and conduct architectural reviews.
Responsibilities
- Lead a back-end engineering team through product roadmap execution and program delivery.
- Build best-in-class developer experiences that accelerate product adoption and satisfaction.
- Conduct architectural, design, and hands-on code reviews to raise platform quality.
- Design and build agentic infrastructure (throttling, guard rails, model routing, RAG pipelines, tool calling, context augmentation).
- Demonstrate operational excellence by running high-scale, mission-critical platform services.
- Amplify team potential through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Remain hands-on with approximately 30% of time dedicated to active development.
Requirements
- Strong coding skills with ability to thrive in a dynamic, agile environment.
- At least 2 years of people management experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing and building REST-based APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot (Python/Go also relevant).
- Proven experience with Microservices architecture.
- Solid knowledge of web application frameworks and hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS/GCP).
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges and push technical boundaries.
- Strong interpersonal skills – a natural collaborator and people person.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) and integrating them into workflows.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
