Lead a backend engineering team responsible for scalable, real-time social interaction services. Define technical vision, architecture, and best practices while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product teams. Python, AWS, microservices.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for backend platform.
- Lead design and development of scalable microservices for real-time social interaction features.
- Establish engineering standards, coding best practices, and QA processes.
- Oversee automated, end-to-end, and performance testing and platform reliability.
- Mentor and develop backend engineers through coaching and feedback.
- Collaborate with Product and Architecture teams to align technical delivery with business goals.
- Support recruitment and technical interviews.
- Evaluate new technologies and improve processes.
Requirements
- Previous software engineering experience building cloud-native backend platforms.
- Experience leading engineering teams with coaching and development focus.
- Strong expertise in Python and modern backend development.
- Extensive experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, serverless, Terraform, SQL/NoSQL databases.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating AI tools into development workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Experience in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with consumer-facing high-traffic products in sports, media, or streaming.
