A FinTech company in Tel Aviv is seeking a Backend Engineer to build and expand backend systems, design architecture, and integrate APIs. The role involves leveraging AI coding assistants and modern development practices to drive technical direction in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Build backend systems from the ground up.
- Design and collaborate on architecture and system design for new products.
- Build internal products and integrate with external APIs.
- Contribute to building, expanding, testing, and releasing products.
- Leverage AI coding assistants to boost productivity while maintaining code quality and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
- Strong programming skills with expertise in Python.
- Deep understanding and proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
- Experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies.
- Experience or strong desire to incorporate AI dev tools into daily workflow with critical thinking to review AI-generated code.
- Independent, proactive, with great interpersonal skills.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in FinTech, billing, or payment systems.
- Experience working with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with AWS.
