Seeking a Senior Algorithm Team Lead to manage 4-5 engineers and drive the development of an AI-powered automation engine for CNC machining. This hybrid role combines hands-on algorithm development, computational geometry, and team leadership to convert complex 3D models into reliable manufacturing plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 4-5 algorithm engineers with 50% hands-on contribution
- Develop an algorithmic automation engine for CNC machining that converts complex 3D inputs into production-ready manufacturing plans
- Drive the product from concept to production, ensuring reliability and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the engine into existing CAM environments
Requirements
- Over 8 years of experience in algorithm development
- Over 3 years of management experience leading teams of 5 or more engineers
- Extensive hands-on experience with classical algorithms and some deep learning
- Expertise in one or more of: computer graphics, computational geometry, geometric processing, 3D models, or mathematics
- Proven track record of delivering algorithmic products to production
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Nice to have
- Experience with CAD
- Experience with PyTorch and deep learning on point clouds, graphs, or meshes
- Background in numerical optimization, constraint solving, or simulation
- Experience with cloud technologies, Docker, CI/CD, and MLOps
