Seeking a Research Scientist to push vehicle inspection beyond current sensing stacks. You will evaluate emerging modalities (thermal, hyperspectral, acoustic, radar), build prototypes, train models, and develop multi-modal fusion approaches. 4+ years sensor-based ML experience required. Full-time role in Tel Aviv.

Responsibilities

  • Survey emerging sensing technologies and identify modalities to expand defect coverage.
  • Prototype with new hardware, build datasets, and train modality-specific models.
  • Run controlled experiments benchmarking new modalities against current inspection stack.
  • Develop multi-modal fusion approaches combining new and existing sensors.
  • Recommend modalities for product integration and partner with R&D.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in sensor-based ML, computer vision, or signal processing.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one non-RGB modality and modality-specific model design.
  • Strong Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
  • Experience designing experimental protocols and building datasets from scratch.
  • Comfortable with new hardware, vendors, and physical setups.

Nice to have
