Research Scientist, Sensing
Seeking a Research Scientist to push vehicle inspection beyond current sensing stacks. You will evaluate emerging modalities (thermal, hyperspectral, acoustic, radar), build prototypes, train models, and develop multi-modal fusion approaches. 4+ years sensor-based ML experience required. Full-time role in Tel Aviv.
Responsibilities
- Survey emerging sensing technologies and identify modalities to expand defect coverage.
- Prototype with new hardware, build datasets, and train modality-specific models.
- Run controlled experiments benchmarking new modalities against current inspection stack.
- Develop multi-modal fusion approaches combining new and existing sensors.
- Recommend modalities for product integration and partner with R&D.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in sensor-based ML, computer vision, or signal processing.
- Hands-on experience with at least one non-RGB modality and modality-specific model design.
- Strong Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Experience designing experimental protocols and building datasets from scratch.
- Comfortable with new hardware, vendors, and physical setups.
Nice to have
- Publications or patents in sensing, perception, or related fields.
- M.Sc./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
Benefits
- Pioneer advanced solutions in AI, machine learning, and computer vision.
- Drive global impact in automotive safety and reliability.
- Career growth opportunities with rapid development and industry partnerships.
