Lead the UX vision for a portfolio of CAD products that enable engineers to design, simulate, and manufacture complex products. Define strategy, mentor a team, partner with product and engineering to deliver intuitive, high-performance experiences for expert users.
Responsibilities
- Define and champion a modern UX strategy balancing power, precision, and usability for CAD software.
- Lead and mentor a team of UX designers and researchers focused on technical problem-solving.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to integrate UX into strategy, roadmaps, and technical decisions.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to ground experiences in real customer workflows.
- Own and evolve the design system and interaction standards to ensure product consistency.
- Communicate UX strategy, insights, and outcomes to senior leadership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in UX design with leadership responsibility.
- Proven success leading UX for complex technical software (CAD, PLM, engineering tools).
- Deep understanding of designing for expert users and performance-sensitive applications.
- Strong ability to influence product and engineering partners at senior levels.
- Degree in industrial engineering or knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Nice to have
- Experience with CAD, PLM, simulation, or manufacturing software.
- Background in engineering, industrial design, or human factors.
- Experience with desktop and hybrid desktop/cloud environments.
- Interest or experience in AI-assisted workflows and design automation.
