Maintain and optimize DB2 databases and related infrastructure in z/OS environments, supporting critical enterprise systems and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and support DB2 products and related z/OS infrastructure
- Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance and operational processes
- Design and maintain highly available, stable, and efficient DB2 databases
- Guide and support development teams throughout complex development processes
- Analyze requirements and design and implement database and infrastructure solutions
- Troubleshoot database and system issues in enterprise environments
- Improve and optimize database processes and infrastructure
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on DB2 DBA experience
- Professional experience with DB2 in a z/OS or mainframe environment
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with DB2 utilities
- Hands-on knowledge of JCL and REXX
- Familiarity with mainframe infrastructure products and environments
- Strong system-level and analytical thinking
- Ability to manage complex technical challenges under pressure
Nice to have
- Knowledge of SMP/E and RACF
