Data Scientist
Lead end-to-end data science projects, from defining research questions and preparing data to developing statistical and predictive models, generating insights, and supporting implementation with senior stakeholders in a municipal research environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop statistical and predictive models for strategic decision-making.
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis: hypothesis testing, regression, segmentation, impact evaluation.
- Integrate and process data from municipal and external sources, including GIS.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Python and cloud platforms.
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations for executive reporting.
- Participate in AI and Generative AI initiatives to improve decision support.
- Partner with BI, technology, and finance teams to deliver analytical solutions.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field (Master's preferred).
- Proven end-to-end data science project experience including data preparation, model development, and validation.
- Strong background in statistics and statistical inference.
- Experience applying regression, classification, clustering, and predictive modeling.
- Advanced Python proficiency (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
- Practical experience with SPSS for statistical analysis.
- Experience working in cloud environments for data processing and analytics.
- Strong Hebrew and English communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure ML, Synapse, OpenAI, Fabric).
- Strong SQL and database skills.
- Experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
- Familiarity with Generative AI technologies.
- Experience with GIS and spatial analytics.
- Previous experience in public sector, local government, or socio-economic research.
