Lead and mentor data and analytics engineers while remaining hands-on in building and operating a scalable, cloud-native data platform for ingestion, anonymization, enrichment, and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor data and analytics engineers
- Manage team priorities, tasks, workload distribution, feedback, and development plans
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team integration
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable data platforms for ingestion, anonymization, and enrichment
- Deliver high-quality analytical datasets using analytics engineering practices
- Define and promote coding, testing, review, documentation, and workflow standards
- Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Identify risks, resolve cross-team dependencies, and remove technical blockers
- Provide tooling, documentation, and guidance to data consumers
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering
- At least 2 years of experience managing and leading a team, including performance reviews, mentoring, career planning, and onboarding
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python
- Deep experience designing and maintaining data models in large-scale data warehouses
- Experience designing reliable, testable data pipelines
- Experience building and operating data systems in cloud environments, preferably AWS
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including version control and CI/CD
- Experience establishing or improving team workflows and engineering standards
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with Apache Airflow and dbt
- Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools
- Knowledge of data privacy and security principles in production systems
