Lead a team of 4-6 data engineers to define the data architecture of a unified Data Lakehouse, own all ETL and streaming operations, define governance processes, and ensure data freshness, accuracy, and completeness. Build a platform for analytic teams to create data products.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and lead a team of 4-6 data engineers
- Own monitoring, on-call, and production operations for sensitive data
- Build and manage ETL and streaming operations for the Data Lakehouse
- Develop, maintain, and optimize robust data pipelines and integrations
- Build a platform for analytic teams to create data products on the Lakehouse
- Define and implement data quality and governance processes
- Collaborate with engineering, BI, and business teams on requirements
- Drive best practices in data management and observability
Requirements
- 4+ years directly managing a data engineering team of 4-6 people
- 8+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or similar roles
- Deep hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Oracle, etc.
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data integration, Kafka, and streaming solutions
- Proven SQL and Python skills
- Experience with cloud environments
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-system environment
