Lead the IT product team for contract systems at a major German insurance broker. Drive product vision, agile development, and stakeholder alignment. 5+ years experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional leadership for the entire IT product team for contracts, collaborating closely with Product Owners of individual agile teams.
  • Set clear, prioritized product goals and steer the development of the contract system, including new features, migrations, and integration of additional insurance lines.
  • Oversee the IT product throughout its lifecycle, ensuring high technical quality and stable, service-oriented operations.
  • Act as the central point of contact for business and technical stakeholders, from departments and IT to management and external partners.
  • Foster continuous team development together with the team lead and Scrum Master.

Requirements

  • Degree in business informatics or equivalent qualification with a strong technical background.
  • Several years (approx. 5–10) of IT product responsibility, ideally in the insurance sector, built on a solid technical foundation (e.g., IT development, system integration, or application support) and evolved toward business topics, stakeholder management, and Product Ownership.
  • Extensive practical experience in agile collaboration; functional leadership of cross-functional agile teams is a strong plus.
  • Seniority and confidence reflected in demeanor, experience, and decisiveness.
  • Strong agile mindset: think in value streams, learn iteratively, and constructively challenge the status quo.
  • Team player with high social competence, able to collaborate on equal footing with other Product Owners.
  • Natural leadership personality who is accepted by teams, provides guidance, and listens actively.
  • Clear, binding, and audience-appropriate communication with departments, IT, management, and external partners.
