Product Manager – Platform Team
Shape the foundational platform, cloud operations, and base services for AI/ML teams at a global software company. Drive product vision, roadmap, and adoption while ensuring a reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Define and refine product vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform, cloud operations, integrations, and base services, prioritizing investments and evaluating build vs. buy decisions.
- Conduct user research with engineering teams to validate improvements, remove friction in developer workflows, and prioritize requests while assessing new technological opportunities.
- Coordinate timely, high-quality delivery of platform increments in an agile, interdisciplinary team, working closely with Engineering and Machine Learning to clarify requirements and resolve blockers.
- Define and monitor platform success metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, developer satisfaction, cloud spend efficiency) and drive cost optimization strategies.
- Act as spokesperson for the Platform Team, communicating strategy, roadmap, and progress to stakeholders and leadership, translating technical work into business outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or comparable field, with several years of Product Management experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure products.
- Strong platform engineering mindset with a track record in roadmapping, building business cases, and driving platform adoption through research, evangelism, and change management.
- Conceptual knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or equivalent), Kubernetes, container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability patterns, and integration architectures.
- Operational awareness of AI/ML model serving and inference infrastructure (e.g., NVIDIA Triton) and understanding of operational challenges of running models at scale.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey platform value to technical and non-technical stakeholders, with ability to build consensus and influence without authority.
- Self-organized, pragmatic, and structured working style, comfortable at strategic and tactical levels, with curiosity and desire for continuous learning.
- C1 English proficiency.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in document processing, RAG, AI/ML products, or enterprise SaaS.
- Background in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or software engineering before transitioning to product management.
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategies (Azure, OpenStack).
- Familiarity with open source platform tooling ecosystems.
- Experience scaling platforms in high-growth or rapidly changing environments.
- Good German skills.
