Lead the product portfolio for infrared optics focused on safety and security applications. Responsible for strategic development, lifecycle management, and market expansion. Interface between technical teams and business stakeholders. Requires strong technical background in optics or physics, product management experience, and bilingual fluency in German and English.
Responsibilities
- Own the IR Optics product portfolio for the Safety & Security application field
- Drive strategic portfolio development and lifecycle optimization, including launching new profitable segments internationally
- Prepare strategic presentations for top management
- Define and implement product roadmaps and expand strategic key accounts in collaboration with sales
- Develop business plans, market and competitor analyses, and market entry strategies
- Act as the entrepreneurial and technical interface between product management and departments such as purchasing, development, manufacturing, quality, and sales
- Lead interdisciplinary teams laterally to ensure alignment and execution
- Oversee serial product lifecycle management at the Jena site, focused on infrared optics
- Ensure customer satisfaction through continuous product improvements and manage necessary changes
- Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives for existing serial products
- Provide technical consultation and analysis for customer inquiries and requirements
Requirements
- Master’s degree in physics, engineering, optics, laser technology, aerospace, or a related field
- Proven experience in lateral or disciplinary team leadership
- Strong analytical and strategic skills
- Excellent communication and customer orientation
- Negotiation-level proficiency in German and English
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
Nice to have
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Extensive professional experience as a technology developer, development engineer, or product manager in OEM solutions
