Lead the mechanical domain for depth-camera and biometric vision products, from concept and industrial design through detailed engineering, prototyping, validation, and production handoff.

- Own the mechanical domain across R&D projects and lead design decisions through production handoff.
- Develop industrial and mechanical designs for depth-camera and biometric products, balancing aesthetics, ergonomics, and manufacturability.
- Design precision opto-mechanical assemblies that align optical elements, sensors, and illuminators within tight tolerances.
- Develop enclosures, brackets, mounts, and mechanisms with attention to tolerance stack-up, thermal management, and optical stability.
- Run system, structural, thermal, and opto-mechanical simulations to validate designs and guide trade-offs.
- Lead prototyping, hardware builds, laboratory evaluation, and design validation.
- Work with machine shops and suppliers on fabrication, tooling, and first-article inspection.
- Collaborate with architecture, optical, electrical, reliability, and systems engineers on product integration.
- Design optical testers and automated test equipment for depth-camera module characterization and qualification.

- Bachelor’s degree in optics, opto-mechanics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical or opto-mechanical product or precision-equipment design.
- Knowledge of camera modules, imaging systems, optical alignment, or optical fixturing.
- Experience owning mechanical design from industrial or concept design through detailed design and validation.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Hands-on CAD experience with SolidWorks or an equivalent tool.
- Experience with structural, thermal, or opto-mechanical simulations, including FEA.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary design and integration, including work with subcontractors.
- Practical laboratory experience debugging hardware and mechanical systems.
- Fluent English and strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.

- Experience with industrial design, product form, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
- Experience designing optical testers or automated test equipment.
- Knowledge of opto-mechanical stability, athermalization, and optical-mount design.
- Experience with precision motion systems, pneumatics, or robotic arms.
- Thermal design and thermal simulation experience.
- Experience integrating mechanical designs with electrical, optical, and software systems.
