Senior Backend Software Engineer, Payroll

Own and evolve a payroll software module used by companies in Israel and internationally. Develop and optimize C/C++ services, translate Israeli payroll regulations into reliable system logic, and help modernize the platform toward cloud-ready microservices.

- Design, develop, optimize, and maintain core C/C++ payroll services
- Translate payroll rules covering tax, pensions, social benefits, and reporting into deterministic, testable software logic, working with domain experts and product managers
- Improve existing architecture and design and deliver cloud and microservice-based services
- Optimize data flows and reporting with MS SQL Server, and improve performance and reliability at scale
- Promote sound development practices through code reviews, testing, version control, and CI/CD, including the use of AI coding agents
- Mentor developers and establish clean-code practices and technical standards
דרישות
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience with object-oriented languages such as C/C++, Java, or C#
- Experience with payroll or salary systems and a strong understanding of Israeli payroll compliance
- Strong relational database skills, including MS SQL Server performance and reliability
- Experience maintaining and modernizing legacy systems while developing new systems in parallel
- Strong system design, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent
יתרון
- Experience with Go or other modern backend languages
- Experience with microservices, Docker or Kubernetes, and AWS
- ERP experience, ideally with a payroll ERP
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
