- Design and develop scalable, well-documented APIs and backend services.
- Own backend initiatives from research and requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, and evaluation.
- Create engineering requirements documents and translate product ideas into technical plans and development tasks.
- Build automated tests to support product quality, performance, and reliability.
- Implement product analytics and monitoring for new features.
- Contribute to backend APIs, messaging infrastructure, query systems, webhooks, and other core services.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders throughout development in an asynchronous environment.
- Investigate technical challenges, propose solutions, and communicate designs and trade-offs.
- Monitor released solutions and contribute to ongoing improvements.

- Professional backend software engineering experience and ability to own projects from concept through production.
- Strong understanding of web API architecture and the ability to design scalable, maintainable, well-documented APIs.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical ideas and designs in an asynchronous environment.
- Ability to work independently and seek clarification or support when needed.
- Interest in the full product development lifecycle, from research and planning through deployment and monitoring.
- Availability for recurring team meetings Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 2:30 PM GMT.
- Fluent written English.
