Own mechanical design, integration, qualification, and production ramp-up for ruggedized systems deployed in demanding field environments. Work with electrical, systems, and algorithms teams from prototype through serial production.
Responsabilidades
- Lead mechanical design and architecture of rugged assemblies, including sealing, thermal management, and materials selection.
- Design systems for mechanical loads, shock, vibration, dust, moisture, temperature extremes, and platform stresses.
- Integrate mechanical infrastructure with electrical and systems teams.
- Design and build rigs and fixtures for lab and field data collection with algorithms and systems teams.
- Lead failure analysis and reliability work, including design FMEA, root cause analysis, and incorporating findings into revisions.
- Drive design for manufacturing and assembly, and select production methods balancing cost, lead time, and ruggedness.
- Plan and lead production ramp-up, including tooling, vendor qualification, first-article inspection, assembly setup, and shop-floor quality control.
- Build, assemble, and debug prototypes, applying findings to production designs.
- Ensure designs meet applicable military environmental, mechanical, and electromagnetic standards, and lead qualification through testing.
Requisitos
- At least 5 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience, including production and assembly.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience designing rugged enclosures or assemblies for high-shock and high-vibration environments.
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD 810, MIL-STD 461, or equivalent design and qualification requirements.
- Experience taking products from prototype into production runs of hundreds or thousands of units, including manufacturing-method selection, vendor qualification, and production ramp-up.
- Ability to work closely with software and algorithms teams.
