An electricity system operator is seeking an engineer to prepare national electricity demand and load forecasts, evaluate forecasting methods, and support operations teams with weather-related updates.
Responsabilidades
- Prepare daily national electricity demand curves.
- Receive weather updates and prepare short-term national load forecasts, including renewable generation.
- Notify operations personnel and supervisors of significant current or forecast weather changes affecting demand curves.
- Assess the accuracy of multiple forecasting methods and applications.
- Draw conclusions and document lessons learned from forecast performance.
- Record daily forecast values and actual measurements.
- Continuously monitor technological developments in the field.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the department manager.
Requisitos
- Ability to prepare daily electricity demand curves at the national grid level.
- Ability to analyze weather updates and their effect on short-term electricity load forecasts, including renewable generation.
- Ability to evaluate forecast accuracy across multiple methods and applications.
- Analytical approach to comparing forecasts with actual measurements.
- Ability to monitor developments in forecasting technologies.
