CBC News is hiring a senior video producer for its Jerusalem bureau. The role covers field production, editorial development, live coverage, and digital-first storytelling about the Middle East for multiple platforms.
Responsabilidades
- Pitch, shoot, produce, edit, package, and publish short- and long-form digital-first video for TikTok, YouTube, CBC.ca, and other platforms.
- Work with a Jerusalem correspondent and colleagues across international bureaus to develop comprehensive coverage.
- Research, write, and produce video, audio, and text journalism for breaking and planned news.
- Operate cameras, portable lighting, wireless microphones, and other field equipment to capture strong visuals and clean audio.
- Ingest, organize, assemble, and edit footage using industry-standard software such as Premiere Pro.
- Produce live hits, live streams, social video, and on-demand content, including sound mixing and basic motion graphics.
- Conduct location surveys and determine audio, lighting, camera, equipment, and production requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on production workflows and creative content-gathering techniques in complex situations.
- Maintain CBC Journalistic Standards and Practices, including accuracy, fairness, balance, impartiality, and integrity.
Requisitos
- At least five years of directly related field experience at a network or national level.
- Advanced technical knowledge of live coverage, visual production, post-production, social treatments, and remote filing tools.
- Strong editorial judgment and experience developing accurate, creative visual journalism from story idea through final edit.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, work independently, and adapt quickly when plans change.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally or deploy to conflict zones at short notice.
- Willingness to work overtime, overnight shifts, weekends, and flexible schedules.
- Relevant university or community college graduate degree or diploma, or equivalent industry experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating digital or social stories and packaged daily news videos that the candidate shot and edited.
- English professional proficiency for reading, speaking, and writing.
